In the world of business agility, I often find myself needing to explain complex concepts in a way that's easy to understand. That's where the Feynman Learning Technique comes in, and it's been a game-changer for me.
Richard Feynman, with his brilliant mind, not only revolutionised physics but also had a remarkable talent for simplifying the intricacies of nature for all of us.
The Continuous Learning Loop
Here's how I've adapted it to my learning journey:
1️⃣ Learn a Concept
I dive deep into the subject, through practising it if applicable, to gain a good level of understanding.
2️⃣ Explain It Simply
I explain it aloud as if I'm teaching it to someone new in the field, ensuring clarity and accessibility.
3️⃣ Identify Gaps in My Understanding
I pay attention to areas where my explanation falters, using them as signposts for improvement.
4️⃣ Go Back and Study More (if any gaps)
I use these gaps as opportunities to refine my knowledge.
And then, it's back to step 2️⃣ as a continuous learning loop.
